Ditjen Diksi – Hadirnya profesi baru, teknologi baru, serta kompetensi baru merupakan salah satu bukti akan perkembangan industri yang kian bergerak cepat. Alhasil, lembaga pendidikan khususnya bidang vokasi juga harus bergerak fleksibel menyesuaikan komptensi dan kurikulum yang dimiliki, utamanya dalam menghadapi perkembangan revolusi industri 4.0.
Untuk menghadapi tantangan tersebut, Politeknik Maritim Negeri Indonesia (Polimarin), Semarang, Jawa Tengah, berupaya menerapkan berbagai kerja sama “link and match” yang tahapannnya sudah bukan pada pengenalan, melainkan pada proses implementasi. Karenanya, pada kegiatan webinar bertajuk “Mempersiapkan SDM Maritim dalam Menghadapi Revolusi Industri 4.0 pada Teknologi Permesinan Kapal” beberapa waktu lalu, Sri Tutie Rahayu selaku Direktur Polimarin turut memaparkan penjelasan mengenai program “link and match” yang telah berjalan dengan industri-industri besar dalam bidang kemaritiman.
Menurutnya, program “link and match” dengan IDUKA merupakan salah satu upaya sekolah dalam mengimplementasikan tantangan revolusi industri 4.0. “Di Polimarin sudah sampai tahap implementasi revolusi industri 4.0, bahkan kami sudah membicarakan revolusi industri 5.0. Adapun di revolusi industri 4.0 yang serba teknologi, big data, dan sebagainya, betul-betul kami harapkan bisa menjawab tantangan telah diupayakan oleh Prodi Teknika,” ungkap Sri.
Sri mengutarakan bahwa program kemitraan menjadi sangat penting untuk mencapai tahap yang tidak hanya menyongsong perkembangan industri 4.0, namun sudah bergerak mengimplementasikan “Vokasi Kuat, Menguatkan Indonesia”. Langkah selanjutnya yang dilakukan Polimarin untuk mengimplementasikan kegiatan kemitraan ini adalah dengan membuka program studi baru, yaitu mekatronika kapal yang akan dilakukan bersama Politeknik Negeri Malang dan sekolah menengah kejuruan (SMK) dalam menyediakan program fast track, juga multi-entry dan multi-exit.
“Program multi-entry dan multi-exit di situlah pentingnya dan dari mitra kami, yakni Politeknik Negeri Malang (Polinema), siap berkolaborasi terkait Prodi Mekatronika Kapal,” terang Sri.
Lulusan Harus sesuai Kebutuhan
Menyoal tantangan lulusan Polimarin di bidang maritim, Tri Joko, praktisi permesinan dan sistem kelistrikan kapal PT. Jannata Marina Indah, menjelaskan bahwa lulusan sekolah vokasi harus mampu menguasai keahlian, pengetahuan, dan karakter yang baik sesuai dengan kebutuhan industri. Menurutnya, banyak sekali lulusan di lapangan yang tidak memiliki ketiga komponen tersebut. Hal itu akan membahayakan dirinya sendiri dan dapat mengakibatkan kerusakan yang fatal bagi perusahaan. “Kebutuhan sumber daya maritim yang diperlukan industri, yakni lulusan yang memiliki keahlian, pengetahuan, sikap yang baik atau karakter, dan inovasi,” jelasnya.
Adapun menurut Sumarcatur Budi, Technical Advisor dan MSM Training Manager PT Meratis Line, kebutuhan industri dalam hal sumber daya manusia dan bagaimana kurikulum yang disediakan tersebut dapat terus disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan industri. Catur pun menjelaskan bagaimana kondisi kebutuhan industri dengan SDM yang tersedia beserta contoh kasusnya, bagaimana menyambungkan antara kebutuhan industri dengan outcome dari pendidikan, bagaimana kurikulum dan rencana pembelajaran yang ideal, hingga rekomendasi dan saran dari dunia industri untuk dunia pendidikan. Seperti kurikulum pembelajaran guru yang kerap membingungkan siswa, yaitu ketika guru kerap mengajarkan hanya berdasarkan pengalaman tanpa didampingi oleh teori keilmuan.
“Diklat pelayaran itu masih kerancuan, confusing, kebingungan seorang dosen kapan memberikan ilmu kepada taruna dan kapan memberikan pengalaman kepada taruna. Apakah dia memegang pengalaman dosennya saja? Atau basic keilmuan yang taruna pegang sebagai dasar jadi kadang menjadi sangat memprihatinkan,” papar Catur.
Padahal, menurut Catur, dalam kondisi revolusi industri yang kian berubah dan berkembang pengalaman bisa saja tidak relevan dengan kondisi di lapangan, sedangkan teori dasar keilmuan akan terus digunakan sebagai salah satu sumber ilmu pengetahuan yang akan bermuara ke pengalaman di lapangan. “Kalau kita punya dasar yang kuat, maka perubahan aturan dan teknologi akan bisa beradaptasi. Jadi, kita tidak harus mengubah kurikulum setiap waktu, tapi justru merumuskan kurikulum yang kuat sebagai dasar. Itu yang lebih penting,” ujarnya.
“Polimarin Tancap Gas membuka Prodi Baru.”
Catur pun menyarankan agar ke depannya dosen tidak hanya mengajar dengan konsep menceritakan pengalaman, namun juga mempelajari teori yang akan berguna bagi lulusan sekolah maritim “Kami merekomendasikan agar para pengajar tidak mengajar berdasarkan pengalaman, tetapi harus berdasar ilmu pengetahuan. Adapun pengalaman bisa memperkaya ilmu pengetahuan itu sendiri. Kemudian disiplin pada kurikulum, mulai dari fungsi, kompetensi, pokok bahasan, dan topik. Teks book IMO dalam hal ini sangat membantu.
